Have you always wanted to make something for yourself to wear, but just didn’t know where to start? Perhaps you used to make your own clothing but it’s just been so long you are a little rusty? Or maybe you just want to have a laugh while making something with other people like yourself?
Whatever your reason, we would love you to join us as we guide you through the steps of creating your own pencil skirt. Trust us when we say, anyone can rock a pencil skirt! No matter what your size, age, shape or style, it will look fab! We are using jersey fabric, as the most important factor when rocking a look is confidence, and key to this is comfort.
During this workshop, we will help you to create your own tailored pattern from which to create your made to measure skirt. You get to take this home, so you can create more for yourself. And once you master these basic skills, you can make them for your family and friends too!
We will have sewing machines available for you to use on the day, but if you have a machine, it would be good for you to use it if you intend to make more at home. We also recommend that you get yourself a Pattern Master and a Twin Stretch 4mm Needle. These are not necessary for the class as we will have these for you to borrow.
The cost of fabric is included in the price for this workshop, and we have chosen 6 amazing prints for you to select from. When you have purchased your ticket, please contact us to confirm your choice of print. If you would prefer a plain colour, please let us know and we’ll discuss options with you.
You will need to bring the following with you to the class: tape measure, pencil, rubber, ruler, fabric scissors, black thread, pattern master (if you have one), twin needle (if you have one) and sewing machine (if you wish).
We will provide: paper, paper scissors, fabric, elastic, coloured thread, sewing machines, twin needles, pattern master to share and of course refreshments. (Please let us know if you have any allergies or intolerances.)
